At FaithLife church, we passionately believe in serving others beyond the walls of a church building. Whether we are reaching out just around the corner or somewhere else in the Southwest Florida area, we feel compelled to serve those in need in our own backyard. We frequently seek ways to gather together to build, to dig, to paint, to feed, and in order to care for the people around us. We’ve been honored to build homes for Habitat for Humanity, serve the families of the Genesis House and the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. We are always searching and praying for new opportunities to serve our community.
Although there is great need in the Port Charlotte area, we also feel called to travel outside of the local region to other under-resourced locations that are in need of assistance. There are times we take trips to impoverished or damaged regions of the country to bring food and supplies, repair homes, and work with the men, women and children of other communities. These recurring trips usually include a four to fivenight stay on location and allow us to build strong and trusted relationships with the local communities so that we may serve them better.
A third component of missions at FaithLife Church is traveling outside the country to meet the needs of those most often confronted with issues like starvation, disease, and other life-threatening issues. These trips usually include a week long stay on location with a ministry team, leadership and other partnering organizations. We have been blessed to serve in areas like Venezuela, Mexico City and El Salvador in the past and are planning to expand to serve additional locations around the worldover the next several years.
Servant Evangelism (SE) is simply a way of demonstrating God’s love to our community in a practical way. We do these events to let people know that God loves them.
